University of Michigan Maze and Blue Award recipient and Cancer Survivor Dianne LeMieux decided it was time to get out of Corporate America. She wanted to open her own franchise, but it had to be healthier food. She discovered Tropical Smoothie Café in a franchise magazine. Her and her husband Craig immediately flew to Destin Florida and met with the founder. This was exactly what she was looking for and with the help of an SBA loan she did it and opened Michigan’s first Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
Fourteen years later Dianne and Craig co-own 14 locations and are Area Developers over the Tropical Smoothies second largest market, Michigan. They are also Area Developers of Northern Ohio and Colorado and have brought their two Sons and Daughter-in-law into their businesses.
As TSC Area Developer in Michigan, Colorado, and Northern Ohio, Craig has built the territory to over 104 open locations, with another 48 franchises sold and in various stages of development.
Previously, Craig was CEO and partner in Fraternal Enterprises Inc., a bingo gaming distribution company, which he sold in 2008 to pursue development of Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Prior to that Craig was a private investigator in both Michigan and Arizona and an investigator for the State of Arizona’s State Fund.
Craig has served on the Tropical Advisory Group, Construction, Operations and Marketing committees for Tropical Smoothie Cafe. He and his team have twice been awarded Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s Area Developer of the Year, along with many sales awards and a building-the-brand award. Craig has plans for continued growth in 2020 and into the future.
